Props:-
- Pictures of missing person- to show on the desk at the start, we will take polaroid's of a dead body for the detective to have on his desk. This will be used at the start of our opening so the detective can bring clues together to create the story, also when he moves one it will go into a flashback of him at the certain place.
- Cars- detective drives up in a car, makes him more real and professional. The car is an Audi A4 Avant, it will be used when the detective pulls up to find clues, this fits the thriller genre because it makes the detective look professional and real. Also it makes it seem more realistic as the detective wouldn't travel by foot.
- Van/truck- detective finds van/truck, clue inside tying missing person with him. This will be the victims car, the detective will find it and link it to the missing person by finding the wallet.
- Possible axe, or gun as a weapon for antagonists, this will be used by the killer, if we choose to show the killer.
- Shoe/Jacket/Wallet- detective finds these as part of missing person, this will contain information about the missing person and he will then be able to piece together some clues, this will be shown when there is a picture of the wallet on a polaroid.
- Body wrapped In sheets/ bodybag- detective finds missing person. This could be shown, but we may choose against it, the detective finds a body in a bag or wrapped in sheets, but it may kill the tension that way. If we do choose to use it then it will be nearer the end so we can maintain as much tension as possible, this fits the thriller genre as murder and violence is common.
- Glasses- to age the detective and add intelligence. These will be definitely used to age the detective as we need to make him seem older, these aren't common to the thriller genre but are a necessity for us, in addition to this we may use makeup and fake facial hair. This will make our detective look more intelligent and this increases the realism of our narrative.
- Laptop- reason why the killer kills the victim, due to data. The laptop will be a clue the detective finds in the truck/van, the hard drive will be removed and this will help tie the laptop and the killer as the killer obviously wanted the hard drive for some reason, this creates tension as the audience want to know what is on the hard drive. This is common for thriller genre as in many films conflicts happen because of secret data.
