Paramount Pictures Corporation (commonly known as Paramount Pictures or simply Paramount, and formerly known as Famous Players-Lasky Corporation) is a film studio, television production company and motion picture distributor, consistently ranked as one of the "Big Six" film studios of Hollywood. It is a subsidiary of U.S. media conglomerate Viacom. Paramount is a member of the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA). It has distributed several successful film series, such as Transformers, Mission: Impossible, Marvel Cinematic Universe (2008–11), Indiana Jones (1981–2008), The Godfather, Star Trek,Jack Ryan, Jackass, The Bad News Bears, Beverly Hills Cop, Crocodile Dundee, Paranormal Activity, Friday the 13th and G.I. Joe. It's the world's fourth oldest continuously-operating major film studio, the third being Universal Studios, the 2 oldest being the French studios Gaumont Film Company and Pathé.

I would chose Paramount pictures as my production company as the company is a great company and is known for there production of great film. It is also a company that is not only known in America but also worldwide which shows how big of a company they really are. They are also a company that has produced and distributed a number of thriller films such as Shutter Island and Jack Reacher which are very good and recognisable thriller films, such as Paranormal Activity, as well known film that strikes fear into it's viewers, a convention of a thriller. This company would work well as it's a highly recognisable company which has been round for years on end and would help sell our thriller as it is a company of high regard and recognition and has a lot of viewers that watch there films and this would help boost the recognition of our film. I think the choice of an American company is more of a wiser choice than an English company. I think this because filming and movies are massive in America and all the great films come from American companies. This is why the choice of Paramount Pictures would be a great choice as they are known worldwide and recognised worldwide, not just in one country.
